Minara Private Boutique Game Lodge provides a children's playground and a barbecue. We stayed in the 2 BR villa called the Farmhouse, in a fully enclosed and secure area populated by wandering wildebeest, springbok and other birds and animals. The unit was well-spaced from other units. It was well built of concrete, tastefully furnished and supplied with high quality sheets and towels. The kitchen was generously provisioned with a multi-function oven, gas oven, and plenty of crockery and cookware, towels and rubbish bags. There was an outside under-cover dining/lounge room with a brai and spa. There were 2 large bedrooms with lockable connecting door. Contact with our hosts was virtual, but they responded quickly and were helpful. There was plenty of opportunity to spot animals from the house and on walks in the neighbourhood.

The food (almost too much of it) the heated pool, the spa, the drinks on the deck, the game drives, the views, rooms are super clean and fresh towels whenever you need. There really isn’t anything not to like. It was a magical restful time and exactly what we needed after a crazy year.

The food is next level. The staff were, without exception, super friendly and professional. The spa in-room treatments are also excellent. The game drives were great. The centre of Bela-Bela is a 30-minute drive from the lodge. OR Tambo Intenational Airport is the closest airport and can be reached within a 2-hour drive away. The size made it feel very intimate and like part of a home. It’s beautiful, food is fantastic and lovely break away from the city when you don’t want to be bothered to self cater in Mabalingwe.

Loved the staff to begin with, very professional and courteous, the food was absolutely amazing, all the time, the game drive guide was knowledgeable and engaging, the whole place is definitely worth another visit. so I would definitely rate my visit and experience a 10/10.
