Extra plus for darkening curtains and fan, which helped so much during the heat wave. The hosts is very kind and reachable. We were given more food then we knew what to do with. Coffee, milk, OJ, a loaf of bread, cheese and a variety of lunch meats, yogurt and granola, fresh fruit. We had extra every day and usually made a snadwich for lunch. A different loaf of bread every day that was fresh baked. The bread was amazing. I asked about the coffee and Yoakim procured 2 bags that I bought to bring home to the US. Yoakim, Martin and Erik were extremely helpful with getting us directions to places we wanted to visit. Yoakim set up a dog sledding adventure and snowmobile ride to experience Swedish Fika. If you want to ski, it is included in your stay. Snowshoeing through the forest was beautiful. And the sauna at the end of the day was so relaxing. There was wood and kindling to make a fire every night of our stay. We just stayed in one of the days and just watched the snow fall. It was like being in a snow globe. It was a great experience all around.

During our stay, we encountered reminders on 3 different occasions, but foxes were also common.

The host, Johan, was really nice and hospitable and the location itself was lovely as it was remote and allowed us to gaze up at the aurora without light pollution getting in the way. Unfortunately I believe those were the only two reasons I was not entirely disappointed with my choice.

Reindeer Lodge cuenta con un sauna, estacionamiento privado de cortesía; y está a 23 km de Kiruna Train Station y a 20 km de Kiruna Bus Station. The breakfast was wonderful - one of the best we have had, so was the location and the little huts we stayed at. We loved spotting old and injured reindeer on our way in. There was a communal kitchen for everyone to use, which went well beyond my expectations + communal sauna and jacuzzi which we had a chance to enjoy. Combined with polar days, it was perfect.
