We enjoyed it so much and really want to come back. My wife has been in Sri Lanka for 4 times, and it’s the best hotel in any means. The room was really big and spacious, breakfasts delicious, swimming pool clean, staff and manager were extremely helpful and kind. Thank you for such a good experience.

It is surrounded by forest vegetation and creatures, and the lovely host will look for things to show you and tell you about. Above the rooms there is a large opensided common area looking into the treetops. Here meals are served and it is a great place to while away time after an early morning Safari into Sinharaja Forest. The food is home-cooked using ingredients grown on the property, and is spectacular – the best we have encountered in Sri Lanka.

Some units have a balcony and/or a patio with lake views. It's a wonderful, peaceful place surrounded by nature and its sounds! Comfi room, lovely staff and all round just a perfect little oasis. The food is also amazing although I found the local breakfast to be a bit expensive compared to other places and even to other items on the menu.

Best value for money so far in Sri Lanka. Great location by the river. We saw some tree snakes, peacocks and chipmunks. Nice balcony to chill on with breakfast. Air con was perfect and adjustable. Nice towels.

Hummanaya Blow Hole is 5.5 km from the lodge, while Weherahena Buddhist Temple is 18 km away. Koggala Airport is 53 km from the property. our absolute favorite stay in sri lanka! we kept extending it because oh we loved it so much. 1. the place is ideally located between dickwella and hiriketiya. close to the main road but far enough to be quiet! (important for us) 2. the room is extremely clean and well-thought out. very beautifully decorated with so much love and attention to detail. we had everything needed and couldn’t ask for more really. having our own kitchen was a huge plus and you can also do your laundry here. 3. the host Dasitha is one of the nicest (if not the nicest) person we’ve ever met. he was so patient and humble and truly cared about our experience…! very welcoming and friendly. great communication too. made our stay so special. helped us a lot in all possible aspects of our travel. feeling very grateful we decided to stay there and meet him. 4. the space: there’s a quiet outdoor area with sunbeds. we loved it! 5. unbeatable value for the price.! we couldn’t wish for a better accommodation! can’t recommend enough and look forward to coming back. thank you so much Dasitha!

Situated 2.1 km from Midigama Beach, Unrushed Midigama features accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Good wifi, massive lawn, and my personal favourite- monster lizard. It lives in the lawn. You can walk to the beach and all the eateries. Manu is very resourceful and can get you most of the things. Just ask him!

Offering garden views, Subodinee Bungalow in Weligama offers accommodation, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden, a terrace and a restaurant. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. Wonderful place close to the beach, but still quiet and secluded. The hosts are super nice and helpful. Several bungalows are hidden in green, vast area so you feel isolated from other guests. The pool is great :). Breakfasts are diversified, so every day you can try different meal. Walking distance, 3 min., to Midigama center. We will most ceirtainly come back!

Some units include a terrace and/or a balcony with mountain or river views. Really charming 'homestay' style place run by very nice family. Our little house had absolutely incredible views over the forest. The hosts arranged our visit to the forest and the guide. Nothing fancy here, just simple,clean and comfortable accommodation. It's a bit hard to find but the host came out on this scooter and met our tuktuk driver who was lost, so all was well. I recommend staying here.

A Hidden Gem for a Relaxing Holiday – The White Gate Lodge, Weligama I stayed at The White Gate Lodge in Weligama this September, and I ended up extending my stay because I just didn’t want to leave – that’s how good it was! The location is ideal for anyone looking to relax and unwind. It’s just a quick hop across the road to "Wild Beach", one of the most peaceful and beautiful beaches in the area. Plus, it’s close to Ahangama town, Matara, and not too far from the must-visit city of Galle. Despite being so central, the lodge is tucked away in a quiet spot, perfect for enjoying some true tranquillity. I stayed in Tharu & Dinesh’s stunning family home, and it was a genuinely lovely experience. The house is clean, beautifully maintained, and equipped with everything you’d need for a comfortable stay. My room was spacious, cozy, and had a nice view. What really makes this place special are the hosts and their hospitality. Tharu and Dinesh are warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive – they made sure everything was perfect throughout my stay. I also have to highlight the breakfast – it was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and thoughtfully prepared each morning. The care they put into the food and service really stood out. Whether you're a solo traveller, a couple, or a family, I can’t recommend The White Gate Lodge enough. It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature, eat well, and be truly looked after. I’m already looking forward to my next stay!
