Located in Mantanani Island, GreenHouse Lodge provides accommodation with access to a garden. The property boasts reusable plastic materials, using energy-saving lighting and conserving rainwater.

Some units feature a terrace and / or a patio with sea or garden views. I liked everything! The atmosphere is quite and relaxing. You feel as in the family, and a very accepting family! Everything you need is provided for you; Fred and Espi really make your life comfortable. In addition, the wonderful nature around, and you can get kayaks to go to the nearest island to make snorkeling and to see corals and colorful fishes... If you need a rest after the long working year, it is the best place you can choose. No noise, no transport, no crowds, the view of ocean, a very clean beach near the stay. We had a walk around the island, and the best and cleanest beach was near our stay. The food that the owners provide was delicious, everything was home-made, including the bread that I couldn't stop to eat it. I have a food allergy, and Espi cooked for me individually so that I could eat without worrying about it. It is the place that I would like to return there each year! I just want to thank Fred and Espi, his wife, for this wonderful time!

Set atop a 100 metre hill overlooking the Kinabatangan Forest Reserve, The Last Frontier Boutique Resort is located in Bilit, and is located a 2 hour drive from the beautiful Sandakan.

This property features rooms that provide towels and bed linen. The en suite bathroom comes with free toiletries. This was a fantastic experience and stay - altogether. The attentiveness of Jason and the staff makes it feel like a 5 star hotel, whilst the location and rustic feel makes it feel like you are truly in the heart of the jungle. You fall asleep to a light breeze and the sounds of the jungle. My wife is pregnant and we were a bit worried about mosquito diseases - but Jason explained that the ridge at which the hotel is at has barely any mosquitoes because of the altitude. He also suggested a non deet mosquito spray that really works. We had 0 mosquito bites during our stay. I can’t get all the things into a review. But such a gem of a place. Thank all of you ❤️

Bayu Senja Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Kundasang.

The lodge offers a flat-screen TV and a private bathroom with free toiletries, a hairdryer and bidet. For added convenience, the property can provide towels and bed linen for an extra charge. Amazing view with balcony overlooking southern mountains and hills from my room. Tidy & clean, with a decent restaurant on-site so not necessary to drive out to eat. Toiletries are sufficient. Thoughtful details in the room. Pleasantly surprised to find this in such a location.

Situated in Kinabatangan in the Sabah region, Borneo Jungle Adventure features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking.

At the lodge you will find a restaurant serving Chinese, Malaysian and Grill BBQ cuisine. Vegetarian and halal options can also be requested. I would give a score 20 if I could :) I found this place a bit by coincidence and I honestly could not have made a better choice for my stay at the Kinabatangan river. The lodge is near to the river and I felt relaxed and at ease from the first moment I arrived. The rooms have just been renovated and are good value for money. Don’t expect luxury - you are in the midst of the jungle after all - but they are really decent, clean and far better quality than previous jungle accommodations I had in other places. All the meals are included and you will get plenty of delicious fingerlicking homecooked food. I was welcomed with the greatest hospitality by Linda. She is such a lovely and passionate person and cares a whole lot about the lodge and her guests. She will absolutely go the extra mile to be sure that her guests have the greatest experience. I also met the owner of the place who is a very kind and respectful man. I loved the fact that this is a very warm and personalised experience where you get to know a few other people without ending up in a big group. As for the wildlife we saw plenty of beautiful birds, lots of proboscis (and other) monkeys, even orangutans and a mesmerising experience with elephants coming up close to the lodge. It was absolutely phenomenal and I can most certainly recommend it to anyone who wants to visit a bit of the jungle in Borneo.

Located in Kudat, Tampat do Aman provides free WiFi, and guests can enjoy a garden, a terrace and a restaurant.

If you would like to discover the area, hiking is possible in the surroundings and the lodge can arrange a car rental service. We had a wonderful stay at Tampat do Aman- Howard was so friendly and helpful, he showed us around and gave us recommendations what to do and where to eat( Inas café is really good). He cares about the local culture and environment and there is also a little museum about the people there( the Rungus) and their culture. We overall can really recommend staying there!

Nestled along the bank of the Kinabatangan River and tropical lush greenery, the Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort is an eco-resort located in the village of Bilit, Malaysia.

The resort and its rooms rest above 4ft wooden stilts that rise amongst the forest, linked together by a series of boardwalk. All rooms in the property feature wooden décor that were hand-crafted by the local tradesmen using the Borneo Iron Wood, a rare timber tree that is native to Borneo. Each room also comes equipped with its own balcony. Captain Rodel is wonderful. He guided us to see all kinds wild animals we expected. He is so experienced and born in nature. The overall organization is very good and clear. Staff friendly and helpful. We booked two rooms. To keep our family stay close, the upgraded us to a family room for free. The resort is beautiful and convenient for the river cruise (beside the river). Beautiful environment. The night walk was a very special and unforgettable experience. Thanks Rodel. Thanks everyone.
