The seclusion of the cabin amongst the garden/trees and the excellent keypad locking arrangements meant that we didn't see anyone: owners or the occupants of the neighbouring lodge during our stay so it felt like we were in the middle of nowhere even though we knew the owners were closeby and easy to contact. Also, thoughtful little details, like the excellent Big Island travel guidebook in the cabin. Also, the filtered rainwater was delicious!

The property looks a dated from the outside but it is beautiful on the inside. We loved the fresh banana bread and fruit for breakfast. Very close to the volcanoes. As we were having breakfast another family told us the volcano had started erupting that morning so we raced down to see it.

The location is absolutely fantastic, just next to the National Volcano Park, offering easy access to nature and adventure. The cabin is surrounded by lush jungle vegetation, and the sounds of beautiful birds fill the air, creating a peaceful, serene atmosphere. The room itself is charming, with a bed that allows you to admire the jungle right from the window. The jacuzzi is perfectly positioned in a "jungle garden," providing a unique and relaxing experience. It’s a very comfortable, tranquil place, and we would have loved to stay longer.

Ingeniously crafted, artistic, efficient isolated lodge providing comfort and convenience in a facility totally off grid. We loved it so much we were reluctant to leave it each morning to go exploring! The only down side was getting there, especially in the dark as the roads leading to it from the west are a mine field of potholes. The approach from the east is much easier on the driver, and the owners should advise their renters to take the entry from the east side.

We stayed in the lodge. It was very pleasant and new. The grounds were lovely and had many fruit trees growing around. The amenities were awesome. Everything we needed was available. They even included some food items as the location is distant from shopping.
