Honestly splendid stay. Spacious rooms, soft beds and linnen, very clean, great Onsen. Location literally next to the station so perfect for a one night stay in Himeji like we did. Breakfast was a bit overrated based on other reviews I saw but there is endless choices for every culture. It closes at 9:30 already which is early. Nonetheless you’ll have a very pleasant stay!

A beautiful huge castle.

A beautiful huge castle. It is recommended to attend a free tour in order to learn and appreciate it and understand how this architect create this place with so many ways to trap any intruder. A mastermind!!!

The hotel is located in the heart of the tourist area, which is anywhere from the JR Shinkansen station to Himeji Castle. 10 minutes walk from the station, 15 minutes walk to Himeji Castle, surrounded by yokocho (shopping streets). The lobby is on the second floor but it's extremely spacious. The triple room is also extremely spacious, housing 3 beds and a sofa in a row with space to spare, with a traditional Japanese bathroom to top it off.

Handy location right by the station with no noise from trains. Easy side entrance though front entrance a little confusing as led into shopping centre. 20 minute walk through shopping streets to Himeji Castle. Only stayed one night and hotel kindly looked after our luggage while we visited the castle. Had excellent dinner in the restaurant. Room large and very comfortable.

It is about 5-7 minutes walk from Himeji Station and about 20-25 minutes walk to Himeji Castle. There are lots of food options around the hotel. The room is big for Japan standard and also clean. Wifi was relatively fast.

Himeji Castle Grandvrio Hotel is mostly frequented by older Japanese couples who visit the large and complete onsen. It was fun to join this Japanese tradition for an evening. The rooms are a bit outdated, with a bed in which we did not fit well. The hotel is less than 10 minutes from the station and somes 20 minutes from the castle.

location is brilliant, super close to the station, so very easy access. also on the opposite side of the main street towards the main attraction of Himeji Castle, so that was great. for once we had had breakfast at the hotel, great choices, both Japanese and western styles available. next time will opt for a longer stay.

I thought this hotel was of a very good quality - more than a 3 star hotel. The customer service was excellent as it was throughout Japan. The room was comfortable and a good size and it had a great view out over the city. The hotel is close to the station and it was very easy to walk there and also to Himeji Castle. I had breakfast downstairs one morning, which was quite good value for money.

The Himeji Castle which has recently had renovations...

The Himeji Castle which has recently had renovations completed comes alive with samurai walking the streets of Himeji and of the paths within the castle walls. An app that can be downloaded onto your phone, shows life at it was, battles that took place at various places around the castle while you stand at the location. It is easy to imagine life as you stand in a location with more than 700 years of history.
