I had a wonderful 2 nights stay at K House Nikko hostel in a 8 beds room. The hostel location is situated on top of a river valley facing the mountains, simply beautiful. The "mountain cabin" resort style renovation is very nice. Large and comfortable common lounge areas to relax and enjoy your meals including outdoor veranda areas to enjoy the scenery. There is big well equipped common kitchen for use. The room is well equipped and everything is new and nice. Very nice external onsen facing the hill and another onsen enclosed. Location is about 11 minutes walk from Tobu World Square Station and 14 minutes walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station. There is a large well stocked supermarket (Lion Dor) nearby., only short walk 6 minutes walk. The hostel is a well managed place and the staff are very nice, responsive and helpful.

I am afraid our stay at Kinugawa Keisui might have destroyed our expectations towards other hotels for the future. I can only describe it as absolutely outstanding. Beginning with the scenario location next to a forest and a small river, the huge, modern, beautiful and amazingly comfortable room, which didn‘t only feature several small welcome presents, a minibar filled with a wide (and free) variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and huge and comfortable beds, ending at the most outstanding breakfast and dinner consisting I was allowed to witness in Japan, the hotel and the amazingly kind and professional staff made our stay to be nothing but amazing. There are some many small details we could list, such as the outdoor fire place where you can read a book in a calm and relaxed atmosphere sipping your coffee, the bento boxes for travels during the day, the Onsen on your balcony for which you can adjust the temperature to your perfect needs, the entertainment system in your room should you chose to relax here, the staff which gives you privacy should you want it but helps with any need you might have, the fast and stable internet anywhere in the hotel and and and. We usually don‘t book hotels again, but we will definitely return here during our next Japan trip.

    Great place but you need a car. Food was very good value, staff friendly (some had good English) but would have been fine otherwise. Well placed for soghts around Nikko including Edo Wonderland and Sesshio Seki a little further afield.

    We loved the Onsens. Location was a short drive to Edo Wonderland, which was on our itinerary. There was a cafe on site that had a foot spa which was lovely to try. The kids loved playing in the Games room and there was activities set up at a table for kids to complete - colouring in and origami.

    Best host ever, drove us to the free shuttle bus to Edo Wonderland because it was coming soon, gifted us a couple of souvenir towels and overall extremely friendly and hospitable. Everything you need in the unit from toiletries (even face cleanser), hairdryer, microwave, kettle, dinnerware, tea, fridge. Bedding and everything smells fresh and clean. The garden was printing in the morning after an overnight snow dump.

    Extremely good value for money. Very basic, no frills, but lovely view from the bathroom window. Great proximity to Edo Wonderland (which was the main reason for our visit to Nikko). Staff friendly, and provided a recommendation for dinner, although we didn't go as we were tired after a long day of travelling.

    Great hosts who went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable. Spotless house, quiet location, beautiful touches to make it feel homely, an awesome bath that stays hot and fills automatically- the best bath I have ever had! Hosts had information including timetables for buses, shows at edo wonderland at their finger tips. Walking distance - 5mins to bus stop and only 10mins tops to train station. Host also took us to the train station in their private car - very friendly, polite and helpful. Loved our stay and wish we stayed longer.

    The rooms with personal Onsen was nice, with high walls and a view of Kinu River and the mountain. Bed was comfortable and walking distance from Kosagoe Station and Edo Wonderland. Nice spread for dinner.
