This was an amazing hotel! Perfect location for our needs, right in town and next door to a fantastic pub "The Squealing Pig" where our event was taking place and not far from our family gathering in Rockcorry. (BTW the Squealing Pig was very accomodating to our very Vegan daughter and her infant son); The staff at the hotel was pleasant and accomodating. The breakfast was fantastic with a full menu of options The town has a nice mall and shopping options; we had our laundry done down the street and back the same day if you get it there early. The Monaghan Museum was fantastic (they are moving to a new location down the street. The restaurants were great and we especially were impressed with 'Eastern Balti House' with the best service and great food!

    The building is remarkable!

The building is remarkable! Anyone interested in this type of architecture can't afford to miss it if they are in town. Be sure to get its full history. Particularly now during the current restoration process you can see the value of such activities no matter their cost. Renovation and renewal affects not only the physical structures but have a way of affecting the lives of all concerned, seeping into their hearts and souls and sewing the seeds of new hopes and new visions. A visit to St Macartan's right now is a must for all thinking souls.
