Acropolis

Long before it was known as Bloomfield Falls, this magnificent waterfall was called Wujal Wujal by the indigenous Kuku Yalanji people. Hire a guide and learn why these people still consider Wujal Wujal to be sacred. Or just head down in your 4x4 with a picnic basket to have lunch in serious style!

Nice to see but 30 euro is really too much for seing a few stones. Not much left of this area, like most temples of ancient Greece. We were a bit dissapointed. Greeks build an immage on the old history. A lot more labour of reconstruction could be done by escavating areas and putting the pieces together to look more like the original. Visitors should at least be permitted to walk inside the area of the temple.

Athens is a wonderful city to visit & explore… however, beware of Rogue Taxi 🚖 drivers! If they don’t display their photo/licence walk away! Even if they put on the “meter” it’s best to ask for a price and not accept an astronomical cost on arrival !🥺 The fare from Airport to Athens is around 50€ NOT 120€ which we were charged by 1 bandit in August! We found a very honest & friendly Taxi driver who spoke English - works for a company called “Athens My Transfer” check it on-line.

Go before sunset to the 6-7.30pm time slot and watch the sun go down. September is the perfect month. Wear non slip shoes. You can buy e-tickets at the bottom. If you travel on the train, take the Acropolis station. Shorter walk from there. Take water with you. Take lots of photos. This attraction is one of our world’s wonders not to be missed!! There is also a small ceremony taking the flag down before closing time.

Very expensive for something that takes 5 mins to look around. Beautiful ancient building but a bit disappointed by the lack of the usual museum things: expositions, artefacts, hey even some shelter from the sun would be great.

The property was an excellent place to stay, right in the heart of Plaka. Nikolas was great communicating with us, giving us the layout of Athens and how easy it was getting around. The apartment is sizable located near many restaurants. Easy access to the Acropolis and other sites in Athens. Most things we did were well within walking distance to the apartment. I would try to book this apartment as my first choice next time I'm in Athens.

Beautiful rooftop lounge with the best acropolis views we’ve seen. All-in-all, the best hotel we’ve stayed at in Athens! We will definitely book here on our next visit.

The apartment was beautiful and very well suited to the three of us. My sister and I both remarked that we would live there. It was a 5-15 minute walk to several restaurants and the Acropolis. The rooftop was amazing too. The host was very communicative and accommodating. If I every go to Athens again I will stay there.

Perfect location beneath the Acropolis in the Plaka district, with excellent staff, and available 24hrs a day. As well as being great price point. My single room was immaculately clean with nice touches of mini fridge and little toiletries and of course great Wi-Fi . Then there is the rooftop view, Wow, it’s a fantastic view spanning Lycabettus hill to the Acropolis. Just beautiful. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here again when I’m in Athens.

The location is fantastic. You can see Haderian Gate in a 5 minute walk. Or you can see it from the 8th floor restaurant at the hotel. The Patliment Building is a 15 minute walk and you can observe the changing of the guard. From the restaurant, you can see the Acropolis. Make a reservation for dinner at The Athens Gate Hotel and see the Acropolis lit up at night. The view is outstanding. The Hop On Hop Off bus is a 5 minute walk.

This is a small boutique hotel in the center of Athens. It is fairly new, so everything is in great condition. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Our room was spacious with a very up to date bathroom. Our balcony even gave us a view of the Acropolis. The breakfast buffet was very good with lots of choices. The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the historic sites surrounding the Acropolis which we found convenient as we didn’t need taxis or the Metro.

George was a great host . Quick to respond and gave us helpful tips with transportation and things to do and see in Athens, where to eat. Lovely roof top patio with great views of the Acropolis and the city . Nice sunsets . Quiet inside the apartment building . Great location . Nice to have a living room area and kitchen along with a comfortable bed to sleep in. About a 7 minute walks to the train station and easy walking distance to the Acropolis and many other locations . Enjoyed the Natural Gardens park .

The location is great. Near the Plaka district. Very calm and safe neighborhood. Th the Acropolis is just 15 minutes walk. The hotel is family run businesses and especially good for family holiday. Business has been running since 1983. I met accidentally a man at the entrance of the hotel and had very good conversation about how to discover Athens etc. He gave very useful advice. Turned out he was the hotel owner. Very satisfied with my stay. Would highly recommend this hotel.
