It is very close to the Spalentor Gate giving access to the old town of Basel and just across the road from the University's botanic gardens which are very interesting. There were a range of restaurants within walking distance and the reception staff were happy to make recommendations to us. We enjoyed sitting in the hotel's garden area with a drink. We selected the balcony room and were lucky to be assigned a room ending in 05 which gave us a view of Spalentor Tower. The balcony itself is tiny but it was nice to step out watch the world go by. Walking distance to Munster, Spalentor, town hall, River and lots of museums etc of the medieval town. Staff really helpful and we were able to leave our bags while we explored Basel on our last day. We're given a BaselCard by receptionist which meant we could use public transport for free (which is the best transport we've ever used, so so reliable) and discounts of museum etc entry.Guest review byLisaUnited Kingdom
