An extraordinary legacy left by the imperial royal family. Admission to the gardens is free, and a walk to the Gloriette [30 minutes] is well worth it for the wonderful view back towards the Palace. You need a ticket to access the roof area, though. There are all kinds of hidden nooks and crannies throughout the grounds, including the Irrgarten and maze.
