The facility was lovely, peaceful, calm and very clean. The baths felt wonderful after a day of cycling. Although there was no restaurant onsite we were able to find food within a five minute walk for both dinner and breakfast.

Aunque solo reservé una habitación en el tercer piso, tenía vista al castillo y al jardín. En ese momento fui el único visitante extranjero pero el personal fue muy amable y me dió las instrucciones precisas en inglés. El onsen no es muy grande pero está limpio y bien ordenado. Hay un desayuno buffet por la mañana, con bastante variedad. Al momento del check out se puede solicitar el transporte a la estación de Tsuyama.

The host was so helpful and had so many tips, she also filled the fridge with all the things we needed. She showed us a lot of things we should check out and good restaurants as well. It was definitely worth the stay.

It’s big and well maintained. Facilities were modern and clean. Beautiful traditional Japanese home that has been refurbished with modern toilet, shower, bath and even an outdoor onsen. Parking onsite. I was granted a late check in at 10pm due to a late arrival. We used it as a base to explore the Setonaikai Park. The home was very conveniently smacked in the middle of all the different islands with easy access to the mainland in the north (Hiroshima) and south (Ehime)

Our host, Big Bear San, went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience He gave us advice on bus transport and picked us up from the highway bus stop, saving us an hour each way. He essentially acted as our guide, helped us see the Sandankyo gorge by adapting our schedule to the weather. He took us up to climb Mt. Shinnyu and showed us other beautiful viewpoints. He shuttled us out to a restaurant for dinner and cooked us breakfast on our last morning. He speaks excelled English and is an interesting and compassionate human being. One of the best experiences we had in Japan
