A wonderful stopover as we walked the Nakasendo trail. The hosts, Ken and Yuki are super friendly, kind, and fluent in English which is rare in smaller hotels in Japan This small hotel is very cozy, the food is delicious and there is a small bar in-house which is great since there is not much to do in Magome at night. Rooms are spacious, traditional tatami and bed available. We had a very nice view of the mountains. Even though bathrooms are shared there are only a 5 rooms in the property, so not a lot of people and everything is spotless clean.

Lago Kawaguchi fica a 3,8 km de distância. this was my fifth time in japan and this is probably the best stay ive had. the property is newly built so it was immaculately clean (although no housekeeping, we were there for two nights). the staff is incredible, friendly and warm. the breakfast delivered to our room everyday was amazing. i recommend booking at least one dinner at the restaurant, the food and service were exceptional. the complimentary light meal was already good enough. they also have a store a couple of steps away from the hotel where they sell a lot of high quality souvenirs. the free winery tour and wine were a nice touch.
