Cozy, comfortable, clean and modern cottage with lots of space. Nicely equipped kitchen. Great hot tub on the deck overlooking the sea. Spectacular drive over the mountain pass and through the fjord to reach the cottage. Helpful and friendly host.

The farm stay features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. Skorrahestar is a gem. From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is located in the Eastern Highlands and is at the border of Vatnajökull National Park. From Laugarfell you have access to many hiking trails and you are close to the road leading to Askja. Laugarfell is accessible for all types of vehicles.

There is a shared guest lounge and restaurant. The restaurant offers breakfast, dinner and coffee, cake and snacks. I Laugarfell every year in September with friends and we love this place. The staff is always so friendly. Looking forward to next year visit.

The property was easy to find, and is very well located for day trips around Egilsstaðir. The house was clean, cozy and nicely decorated. There was a washing machine as well, which was very handy. The beds were comfortable. The area was very quiet, a bit outside of Egilsstaðir, but very quick to drive there. From the open area where the cottages are, there is a short path to a jacuzzi (which was spotless) and there is also a sauna. We had a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. It provides modern en-suite rooms, a restaurant, hot tub and sauna are available at an additional charge. Receptionist/owner(?) was very nice. He helped us to heat up our food and carried our suitcase for us. He also made some travel recommendations in eastern Iceland. :) There are also free postcard offered by the hotel:) Our room had private bathroom included, and we saw a rabbit from our windows!! The breakfast was also great! I recommend you to stay here if you are looking for a stopover between Höfn and Egilsstaðir
