The care and hospitality is tangible at Valter & Drita’s - John and Mary are exceptional hosts and the food produced in their mother’s kitchen is fantastic and you can taste the love. The homemade pickle salad and cheese pie were so good! All the food was outstanding - simple but really tasty. Breakfast is buffet style and caters to savoury and sweet palettes. Great coffee and Mary and John will cater to any dietary requests happily. Evening meals on the terrace with jaw dropping views were a real highlight after a day hiking in the beautiful region of Theth. The stars and moon are so close as the property is located high on a mountainside. It’s a very private sanctuary. The room was spotlessly clean, linen was lovely and the bathroom facilities were great. This place ticks all the necessary boxes re facilities but the people are what make a stay memorable. Go and visit these people - you won’t regret it. Two nights was definitely not long enough for us and we hope to return again in the future.

The sunset was especially memorable — it was beautifully visible during dinner, right from the terrace overlooking the scenic Lake Shkodra. The food was delicious and felt homemade with care. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. I had to leave very early in the morning, and the hostess thoughtfully packed me a breakfast to go: a pancake, fresh fruit, and homemade strawberry jam. It was such a touching gesture. Thank you for the cozy atmosphere, attention, and hospitality!
