NetherlandsThe accommodation is located closely to the Utsiktspunkt of the Gaularfjellet. That's really so beautiful.
When we arrived at the accommodation we were received very kindly. Beforehand we booked a 3-course dinner. The host made the diner himself and it was amazing. He also told us about the history of the location and talked a lot about the building construction as well as about Norwegian customs and traditions.
We stayed in a room upstairs. We had an own bathroom with toilet and shower. There was a kingsize bed with special Flatheim-towels. The living room was very koselig. We slept very well. The host is also a sheep farmer, so there are sheep and chickens walking around (behind a fence). So it's amazing waking up while hearing the sheep on the background.
Next morning, one of us had her birthday. The host remembered this, which was very kind. We got a mini breakfast-buffet. This contained Norwegian products like homemade jam, brunost, fresh vegetables, brie, salmon, fresh egg from the chicken, etc. We also tasted a small piece of 'gammelost'. In short: there is no better place to celebrate a birthday!
At home we are used to taking of our shoes. They do that here as well. The (Norwegian) socks are ready for use if you get cold feet. This customs feels like being at home.
Staying here felt like getting to know about Norwegian traditions and customs, even if its on a distance. We can definitely recommend this location and will definitely return back.
