Amazing doesn’t even begin to describe it! This hotel has everything one could ask for - even more than that. The public baths are enormous with so many different bath types and even the opportunity to drink some sake in an outdoor bath. The swimming pool was amazing too (for whatever reason pretty empty when I was there) with a waterside and an outdoor hot tub with views over Hell‘s Valley (which looked even more spectacular at night). The room was big and very comfortable. (I even saw some deer from my window once 💕) Everyone working there was extremely friendly as well. The breakfast was spectacular. Lots of different (local) dishes which all tasted fresh and amazing. I wish I could have stayed longer and I definitely want to come back one day!

This was a beautiful way to start our month in Japan. The kaiseki dinner and the breakfast were both delicious. The onsen was gorgeous overlooking the lake. You could also refill your water bottles from water directly from the lake in the lobby. There is a cute gift shop with plenty of shimaenaga merchandise.

I love how thoughtful the place is for families esp. preschooling children or younger. They had kids in mind in every aspect of the place. From rooms, to onsen, the pool and even a kids buffet spread.

Set in Chitose, Ame no Hi to Yuyake-Adult Only offers accommodation with seating area. The 4-star ryokan features lake views and is 26 km from Tomakomai Station. Guests can make use of a garden.

Perfect location - a few minutes' walk to Lake Shikotsu and the Visitor Centre. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast and dinner featured local ingredients and the after-dinner gelato was delicious!

Great Onsen that switches every other day. Excellent japanese food. Also some western choices available. Friendly staff. Wifi in the room. We would come again.

When we arrived at Toshi 's House, we could not believe our own eyes. Such a beautiful house! It is even nicer than on the pictures. It is situated in a very quiet residential area, without any disturbing sounds. No noise at all, night or daytime. Inside: a huge living room, a well equipped modern kitchen, and great bedrooms. We enjoyed a perfect sleep. A really great bonus is the private onsen. We enjoyed the beautiful typical Japanese garden with stunning autumn colors. Toshi 's House is just 15 minutes driving from famous Jigokudani (Hell Valley). Our stay at this house was one of the best, ever.
