A lovely house with a great atmosphere. You feel like you are visiting a very friendly hostess who accommodates guests in two rooms. A well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare your own meals, a refrigerator in your own room. Living space on two floors, including tv's and a lovely dreaming place upstairs, i.e. lounge chairs, with a view directly into the forest. A wood-heated sauna is available and there is a pond in the yard where you can take a dip. We would definitely like to come again.

Amazing host and a wonderful location. Dogs are more than welcome and our doggies loved the company of the two residential ones. Rachel tailors the stay to the needs and wishes of her guests and canoe, sauna and even a hot tub are available on request for a small fee. Next to Nuuksio National Park and Nuuksio Lake the location offers everything a nature lover would want from swimming, canoeing, mushrooming and hiking. The cottage itself combines camping and comfort in true glamping style. We for sure will be back – our only regret is that we stayed only for one night on the way up North. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

I had booked an airport hotel as my trip was very short and I didn't want to spend too much time commuting but when this property popped up on Booking.com with a Genius discount I thought, this is a must-see! A major selling point was the free sauna, convenient location in the town where I had my business meetings and the great reviews about the breakfast. Upon arrival at Backby I was transported to a fairy like destination. The landscaping, the buildings, the air that was pure and fresh. Everything felt magical. I slept soundly in the firm single bed and enjoyed a superb breakfast buffet the next day! Even more special the sun was out in all it glory on my second day so I was able to enjoy breakfast on the terrace with a view of the lush Finnish forest. I sat outside for two hours in the sunshine enjoying a three- course breakfast of fresh berries with yoghurt, bread and pastries with sausages, and specially made hot chocolate! This place makes me want to return to Finland!

Very good acoustics, very efficient a/c in the room, staff couldn't smile more. Breakfast was spot on, coffee was nice.

Wonderful cottage. There is everything you need. Everything is very clean and tidy. Beautiful place.

Great spacious house, ability to make use of bikes, etc. The house in real life was way more pretty compared to the pictures.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay (7 nights) at Poppelstrand. Rachel gave us plenty of great hiking recommendations, and was so kind and helpful throughout our stay. The location is excellent - super close to the bus stop (allowing us to easily go to the national park and to Espoo for groceries) and only a few minutes' walk from a nature reserve. This was a wonderfully calming stay. We would love to come back in the winter. Merci, Rachel! :-)
