Great resort! We stayed at family suite by the lagoon and it was amazing. Hotel grounds is beautiful and green, very clean and photogenic. We stayed with our small dog (paid extra 1000 egp for the dog for the whole stay) and it was really easy and nice. It has pool and small sand beaches with shades. Also they have a private beach where you can go every hour with a shuttle boat, it takes 5min to get to the beach of open sea. The private beach have a hotel beach-bar and also small souk and other bars-restaurant and even a spa. All the staff is very friendly and attentive, food is delicious. Would definitely visit again!

Super comfortable and excellent location to stay but fairly expensive. Evrything is excellent about this place. It is superclean, very well laid out as a resort, has super friendly staff, excellent animation team and above all, excellent food. We stayed there for 5 nights and every dinner at least 70-80% of the prepared dishes were different so beside the excellent quality, also lots of variation in the food. El Gouna is a closed of holiday village which shields you from the rest of Egypt. It if absolutely not like the regular Egypt but the great adavntage is that everything in the village is also supertidy, clean and really quiet. No car horns here like in the rest of the country. It makes the stay very relaxed I would say. Another advantage is that you will not be bothered by anyone hassling you. On the other hand, they do not need to as the fixed prices are usually 200%-400% percent of what you would pay in the rest of Egypt, including for regular items like water and food. Be aware there is no transport between Gouna and Hurghada which leaves no option but taxis or Uber and they will hassle you. Quite a few Uber drivers do not want to take you to Gouna unless you pay 3-6 times the regular rate.
