Situated in the car-free Wengen in the Jungfrau Region, Hotel Berghaus enjoys a quiet location surrounded by the Bernese Alps. The Männlichen Cable Car and the village centre are only a short walk away. The hotel is just above the main street and is a 10 minute walk from the station, and 3 minutes uphill from the main street, which makes it a bit more of a quiet area and is a nice place to relax. The views from the balcony (off of the room) of the valley were stunning. The staff were so friendly and helpful - we wouldn't hesitate to stay the next time we are in the area. We only had the breakfast which featured many local products which was super nice to have to get your day started.

All units in the inn are equipped with a flat-screen TV and free toiletries. We stayed there for a night and then came back for another night after 3 days of biking. The man in the counter was happy to hear it and was so generous that he upgraded our room. The view was outstanding, the food extremely delicious and for a good price. We absolutely loved it and recommend staying there.

The room was not only spacious and incredibly comfortable, but it also offered a breathtaking view. What truly set this experience apart, however, was the exceptional customer service. After accidentally leaving our camera behind, we faced the unfortunate reality that returning to retrieve it wasn’t an option. Yet, the staff and manager at Hotel Steinbock went above and beyond to ensure it was safely returned to us. Their kindness, honesty, and dedication were absolutely remarkable—and deeply appreciated. In a world where such genuine helpfulness is rare, their actions left a lasting impression on me. Whenever I return to Lauterbrunnen, there’s no question—I’ll be staying at Hotel Steinbock again and again.
