Welcome to Mama Africa, I am beyond excited to be your host! As a cultural Anthropologist with Ethiopian Roots, I love to travel Africa and learn about different cultures as well as sharing my own. The best part about traveling is the long lasting memories and friendships you build. I have so many great memories attached to my Homebases in Africa and I am convinced that you will, too. It is my passion to guide my Guests through their journey and share tipps, stories and places with them, that will give them an authentic, unique and unforgettable insight & experience. I am available around the clock for my guests. All guests are personally welcomed by either myself or my co-host Ilias. Ilias lives in the neighborhood and is always on site in case the guests need help.

The house is situated in Pingwe-Michamvi, just a 5-minute walk from the nearest beach. Michamvi is a unique destination that’s a must-see, and it's the only spot on the south-east coast where you can enjoy both sunrise and sunset views. The locals are incredibly friendly and helpful. For a memorable experience, don’t miss dining at the famous restaurant 'The Rock' located on the same beach. A supermarket, fruit and vegetable stands, local stores, and souvenir shops are all within a 10-minute walk. The island’s coolest beach bar, 'Kae Funk' offering stunning sunsets, is also nearby. Along the beach, you’ll find beautiful resorts such as Baladin and Karafuu Resort, both of which offer swimming pools that you can use when you order a drink or meal. Michamvi is not only perfect for long beach walks but also an ideal base for exciting bike tours.
