It is a 40-minute drive to the Whakapapa ski area on Mt Ruapehu. Facilities include a gas BBQ with outdoor picnic table, geothermal central heating in winter and cooling fans in summer. Each motel unit has a living area with table and chairs, as well as separate bathroom. 10 minute drive from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.
