El Tsukihitei se encuentra en el bosque primitivo de Kasugayama, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Las habitaciones tienen una decoración de estilo japonés y ofrecen vistas panorámicas del bosque, suelo tradicional de tatami (entramado de paja) y biombos de papel shoji. Todas las habitaciones están equipadas con baño y camas de tipo futón japonés. El establecimiento está a 400 metros del santuario de Kasuga Taisha y a unos 10 minutos a pie del templo Todaiji.
