This Ryokan is absolutely phenomenal, everything from the politeness of the staff to the facilities and the room. It was quite easy to do the check-in, as it was raining and they offered to dry out jackets. On the first day after such a long trip,...

As a French traveler, I have high expectations when it comes to service and hospitality. I can honestly say that Kirishimaya Ryokan far exceeded them. The ryokan is very well located — peaceful, yet close to all the important sites in the area....

Rustic atmosphere near the town center. Onsen have excellent water, I'd say it's pretty much the same as the big three bath. So if you're not keen on going to the large public bath the onsen here is an excellent alternative. Staff were friendly...

Información del alojamiento

[Tranquil Location] Our ryokan is just a 3–4 minute walk from Kusatsu’s iconic Yubatake. While located in the heart of the town, it is surrounded by a temple and a shrine, providing a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the hot spring district. [Shiriyaki Bath] Our signature bath is the patented "Shiriyaki Bath", offering a one-of-a-kind Kusatsu Onsen experience. The bath features 100% free-flowing hot spring water sourced from Yubatake. It is made with carefully selected akamatsu (Japanese red pine), a traditional material rarely seen nowadays. Following a three-month renovation period, we reopened on December 28, 2022, with an upgraded and more comfortable bathing experience. [Meals] Our ryokan primarily offers accommodation only, without meals. However, if you would like breakfast, please request it at the time of booking or contact us in advance. We serve a light Japanese-style breakfast featuring locally sourced rice from a contracted farm. Special attention is given to the rice preparation, and it has received excellent reviews for its delicious taste. [Parking] Despite being in the town center, where open spaces are limited, we have a parking lot conveniently located in front of the entrance. Guests may use the parking lot for free until 2:00 PM after check-out. [Power Spot] Next to our entrance is Kita-Muki Asama Shrine, a unique spiritual site located on a small mound. Guests who climb to the top to pray can receive a Climbing Certificate as a fun and educational keepsake. [Please Note] Our ryokan is situated on an elevated area along a steep slope (the old Shinshu-Kusatsu trade route). Additionally, there is no elevator, and the facility is not barrier-free. We kindly advise that guests with mobility concerns or elderly guests consider this before booking.

Información de la zona

[Surrounding Area] Next to our ryokan is Kakomiyama Park, home to Shirane Shrine. Adjacent to the park is a sumo training facility. To the west of the park, about a 10-minute walk away, is Sainokawara Park (also known as "Sai-no-Kawara"), a scenic area with open-air hot springs and stone-stacked offerings, historically associated with Buddhist folklore. Additionally, Yubatake and Otaki-no-Yu are just a 3-minute walk away, making our ryokan a highly convenient base for exploring local attractions.
