Surrounded by mountains and mountain streams, and blessed with natural hot springs, Hoo!Hoo! is a place where you can truly experience the beauty of Japan’s natural landscape. Behind the lodge flows a clear mountain stream. Not only can you enjoy the view, but in warmer seasons, you can relax in a deck chair placed right in the river and spend time reading or simply unwinding. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, walking, and cycling—and e-bikes are available for rent. The lodge has only five private rooms, creating an intimate and peaceful atmosphere. There are two private baths fed by natural hot spring water, which you can use anytime during your stay. The source of the hot spring in Yuya Onsen is known for its excellent heat-retention properties, keeping you warm long after bathing—especially appreciated during the colder months. Please note that toilets and washbasins are shared with other guests. While the on-site bar does not serve meals, we recommend going out for dinner or purchasing food before your arrival. A simple breakfast of cereal and coffee is provided free of charge. Conveniently located just a one-minute walk from JR Yuya Onsen Station, the lodge is easily accessible—but please be aware that dining options within walking distance are limited. To fully explore the area's charming spots, which are outside of walking range, we recommend coming by rental car. If you have an international driver’s license, local rental car services are also an option. We encourage you to stay not just for one night, but for several days, and enjoy the timeless, rural landscapes that represent the essence of traditional Japan.
Nestled in the mountains, with a clear stream flowing just behind the lodge, Hoo!Hoo! is located in a rural mountain area that offers the quintessential scenery of the Japanese countryside. For hiking, we recommend Mount Hōraiji, a historic site with trails and even guided tours available in English. There are also many other mountains in the area suitable for hiking. A scenic cycling route along the river takes you to Chiiwa Gorge, another great destination. In the summer, there are plenty of spots nearby where you can enjoy playing in the river. Since most of the area’s attractions are outside walking distance, we recommend coming by rental car. If you have an international driver’s license, you can also use a local rental car service. If you’re not feeling particularly active, you can simply relax by the river just below the lodge and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
