It features a traditional irori hearth in the Japanese-style living room, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, and free parking — ideal for family vacations or group stays. Please note: The irori and parking require advance reservation. If you wish to use them, kindly inform us in advance. Whether you're sightseeing, visiting family, or working remotely, Omoya offers a peaceful and relaxing space. It is conveniently located near Matsuyama City Station and provides easy access to the Dogo Onsen area. Come experience the charm of Ehime — its rich nature and the warmth of its people. Omoya is more than just a place to sleep. We hope it becomes a place where you can connect with others and reflect on yourself. We warmly welcome you.
◆2011 After the Great East Japan Earthquake, I began to feel uncomfortable with the stress-filled society created by Japan's excessive convenience. I made a bold choice to disconnect from mobile phones and the internet, and spent two months backpacking through Southeast Asia — without knowing the language or geography. Living with nothing but what I carried, I came to truly appreciate the value of human connection. ◆2016 That journey inspired me to create a place where people of all ages could gather, connect, and talk. I thought, “A crepe shop is the perfect place where anyone can drop by.” So I opened a crepe café in Matsuyama City. ◆2021 As part of a local initiative to repurpose vacant homes, I renovated my grandfather's traditional house and opened Guesthouse Omoya. I would be delighted if visitors from all over Japan and abroad could experience the beauty and culture of Ehime. Blessed with the sea, mountains, and rivers, Ehime is a naturally rich and welcoming place. I hope you'll come visit and enjoy everything it has to offer.
◆ Historical and Cultural Spots Matsuyama Castle (Approx. 2.5 km) Standing proudly in the heart of the city, this is one of Japan’s twelve original castles with its main keep still intact. From the top, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Matsuyama. Dogo Onsen Honkan (Approx. 5 km) One of the oldest hot springs in Japan, this historic bathhouse appears in Natsume Soseki’s famous novel Botchan. The building itself is a cultural treasure. Saka no Ue no Kumo Museum (Approx. 2.5 km) This museum is based on the novel Saka no Ue no Kumo by Ryotaro Shiba and offers insights into Japan’s modernization during the Meiji era. Bansuiso Villa (Approx. 2.7 km) A French-style villa built in the Taisho period and designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. It features elegant architecture and a peaceful atmosphere.
