The accommodation The apartment sits in the top part of the village, offering views of Tricoli and across the Pardu Valley. The apartment has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and one with two single beds. There is a fully fitted kitchen with an open fireplace and French windows which open out onto a balcony. The bathroom offers both a bath and a shower. There is also a relaxing sitting room with a flat screen TV, DVD, and a Wii. It can accommodate 4 guests but a 5th bed can be added upon request. For families with young children a cot is also available. For cyclists and bikers there is a lockable room where bikes may be stored.. The village itself offers numerous shops, two pizzerias/ restaurants and bars all offering a warm welcome.

Our story …. Pagu pagu de paradisu (a little bit of paradise) is an apartment in the village of Gairo Sant’ Elena. We moved here in 2004 to pursue a more tranquil way of life and to give our children a chance to grow up in a different culture. Helen is an English teacher and Roberto works in a local hotel.

About Gairo Gairo Sant’Elena is nestled in the mountains at 670mt above sea level in an area known as the Pardu Valley. Its position makes it the perfect base to give visitors the chance to explore a vast area of varied landscapes in a wild and unspoiled environment. Gairo is divided into two villages. There is the old inhabited area of Gairo, known as Gairo Vecchio, which was abandoned in 1951 after a great flood destroyed the village forcing the people to rebuild another village at a higher level now know n as Gairo Sant’Elena, The mountainous landscape that characterises Gairo hosts an array of walks, natural waterfalls and caves. It also one of Sardinia’s most famous natural monuments, Perda e’ Liana, which can be seen from far and wide. Gairo is also the only village of the Tacchi to have an area of stunning coastline known as the Marina di Gairo. Gairo boasts three diverse yet equally spectacular beaches: ‘La Spiaggetta’, a rocky beach perfect for snorkeling and kayaking. 'Su Sirboni’, a sandy beach with shallow waters perfect for families. ‘Coccorrocci’, a rocky beach that sits at the end of the Marina di Gairo.
