Bakkafjörður is a tiny fishing village in Iceland’s far North-East, offering a peaceful atmosphere, fresh sea air, and wide views of the Langanes Peninsula. From time to time, whales can even be spotted in the fjord, making the setting truly unique. There is no grocery shop in the village, so it’s best to bring supplies in advance. The closest shops are in Vopnafjörður (30 km) and Þórshöfn (40 km). In summer, meals are available at the local North East restaurant, and fuel is available at the village gas station. The cabin has free private parking just outside and is easily accessible year-round. Pets are not allowed. Smoking is not permitted indoors, but guests are welcome to enjoy a cigarette on the terrace.
