I am a retired sea captain of the Greek merchant marine. I was born in Alexandria, Egypt, to Greek parents. However, my upbringing and life at sea made me more of a cosmopolitan. By this I mean I feel I am just one more child of this beautiful planet to which I came to learn to coexist. Like most Greeks born in Egypt in those days, I speak many languages. Back in Egypt, apart from Modern Greek, in the school we also learn Arabic, English, some French and Italian. We, my Colombian wife, Claudia, and I share our home with our nice little dog called Mini. We are also happy of our aquarium with its colorful and playful goldfish. However, apart from swimming, the hobby which gets all my time is building wooden ships, as having been a captain for so many years really defines me. My ship historic models collection is definitely my greatest pride.

The house is a 15-minute drive from Aegina port and a 5-minute drive from the little fishing port of Souvala, on the northern coast of the island. The local area, Vathy, is a relaxing, artistically inspiring and attractive place, close to where any social activities may develop. It is roughly equidistant from most places in the north, east and west coast. The spot is a good start point for a walk, if you choose to take the mountain trails through the forest to visit the ancient temple of Apheas. The maze-like medieval town of Palea Chora and the monastery of St. Nektarios are at a reasonable walking distance. Same goes for other equally popular monasteries, Eleftherotria and St. Dimitrio.
