The house is built against a mountain , the studio is on the ground floor and accessible via a small staircase at the side of the house. It is a 2-room studio with one bedroom with a double box spring, a sofa bed, a kitchen cabinet (Nespresso, toaster, kettle, microwave, dishwasher, kitchen equipment) There is no cooking plate and spoolbox. And a bathroom. When renting the studio, 1 small, 1 large bath towel and a beach towel are included per person. Cosmote TV. If the key is lost, a fee of 25 euros will be charged, payable in cash to the hostess. Laryssiou Suite is the ideal starting point to discover the Peloponnese, Mani, Gerolimenas, Limeni, Stoupa, Areopoli, but also Momenvasia, Neapolis, from where there is the ferry to Kythira
We are Linda and Erwin Beenaerts-Huysmans, we live in the Kempen in Belgium. And have a very nice hostess in Gythio. During a holiday in Greece we ended up in the village of Gythio in Laconia, Peloponnese, and found our dream location, we immediately fell in love with the harbor and the peace that one finds there. In the meantime, they are also grandparents and also want our grandchildren to experience Greek life. We hope you have as much fun as we do in the Peloponnese.
Gythio (Lakonia) Githio is the largest city of "the Mani"; the middle arm of the southern Peloponnese is named after the castle of Mainia. It is located in the department of Lakonia. In the north of the city, the ruins of the ancient Acropolis and the theater can be seen along with traces of Roman buildings. The island of Kranai or Marathonisi, now reunited with Gythio, is said to be where Helen and Paris (the son of the king of Troy) spent their first night after running away from Menelaus. This would have been the trigger for the Trojan War. The center of the island is dominated by the Tzannetakis tower. When I visited Gythio I was impressed by the many terraces on the water. The summer evenings are very pleasant here: you can stroll around on the boulevard at the harbor or have a drink or eat in the many restaurants.
