On the outskirts of Mestia there is a modern ski resort Hatsvali. Funicular, in the center of the town, which takes you to a height of 1898 meters above sea level, where the resort is located. Mestia is considered the center of mountaineering and high-altitude tourism in Georgia. Routes from the city start to the peaks of Jhangi-Tau, Ushba, Shkhara and other peaks.
