Docking is a large village that can trace its roots back to Roman times. Today it features an excellent late opening local shop and welcoming local pub, The Railway Inn, which serves local ales and food. There is also a popular fish and chip shop, Docking Fish Bar. Children will enjoy a short walk to burn off some energy on Docking's playground for a game of football or frisbee on the playing fields. The tennis courts here have annual and guest membership, all year round availability with floodlights.
