Deerview Lodge is a brand new lodge which is within the new Galtres Retreat and Lodge holiday Park at Pickering North Yorkshire. Located in the heart of Ryedale and surrounded by the stunning North Yorkshire Moors National Park, Galtres Retreat and Lodge Holiday Park is the perfect base from which to explore the hidden gems of North Yorkshire. A peaceful park close to many local amenities.

Pickering is a vibrant traditional Yorkshire market town positioned at the gateway to the North Yorkshire Moors. Galtres Lodge is in a prime position within within close walking distance of Pickering town centre and the the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. The town centre is very vibrant, where you will find a lovely selection of local shops, bars, coffee shops, gift shops, banks, PO and supermarkets. Keen walkers will also find an array of local walks from the cottage along with many starting just a short drive away. Galtres Retreat and Lodge Park is a new and developing site which will house a sports bar, swimming pool and lots of greenland. FURTHER A FIELD Deerview Lodge is a short distance away from many lovely places to visit including the East Coast- Scarborough, Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, Thornton-le-dale; with the lodge lying on the very edge of the North York Moors. (Gateway to the North York Moors). The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is in walking distance from the lodge and takes you direct to Whitby, travelling across the beautiful scenic North York Moors. (Dogs can also travel with you at a small additional cost). The cottage lies a short drive from Eden Camp, Dalby Forest and Flamingo Land. Helmsley (a beautiful market town) is a pretty 20–25-minute drive from the cottage, where you can join the Cleveland Way walking trail, visit Helmsley Castle and the beautiful Walled Garden, or enjoy mooching around the lovely local shops. Situated just 25 miles north of the City of York you are also perfectly placed to head into the City to experience the culture of the Minster, museums, galleries and the ancient City walls. Or if your passion is food, you’ll find many excellent independent bars and restaurants to discover. The City of York is brimming with history and culture.
