About this property

This beautiful country house hotel from 1861, set in 28 acres of wonderful gardens and 4 Gold Stars (Visit Scotland) for affordable luxury 30 km from Edinburgh. The hotel was also awarded by AA as Scotland's Hotel Of The Year 2013/14. Despite its peaceful rural location, Cringletie House is only about 30 minutes drive from Edinburgh and Edinburgh Airport. The convenient, yet secluded location makes the small country-house hotel ideal for a relaxing or romantic break. The restaurant with hand-painted ceiling provides excellent fine dining. The à la carte menu changes seasonally to reflect the finest, freshest produce available locally. Many dishes feature ingredients from the hotels 400-year-old walled kitchen garden. The idyllic location and beautifully appointed accommodation makes the hotel a superb base for the Tweed Valley.

We look forward to welcoming ever single guest, past or future, as if they are entering our own home. We wish for our guests to feel totally welcome and at ease, as if they are.. at home!

Property information

As is very unusual for a grade B listed building, Cringletie House is fully wheelchair accessible and that means that guests in wheelchairs or guests with impaired mobility can still enjoy a meal in our stunning dining room. The Sutherland Restaurant boasts a wonderful painted ceiling and has beautiful views of the grounds surrounding the hotel - what more could you ask for whilst enjoying a 2 AA Rosette meal!

Neighbourhood information

With the River Tweed and the Tweed Valley Forests on our doorstep, as well as many historic houses, there is no time for boredom. Fishing, walking, mountain biking, sight seeing, it is all possible from Cringletie House. Furthermore, the capital city of Edinburgh is only some 30 minutes away giving you the chance to combine "Town & Country".
