As a small family run business we take great pride in making sure all our guests are comfortable and have an enjoyable stay with us. We are always trying to improve what we offer each year as we truly believe we are located in one of the most peaceful spots on the west coast without being too far away from civilisation. My name is Katie and I have come into the business in the last 3 years as I have a passion for hosting and showing off our wonderful home, and I love it! I will be the one communicating with you from the moment you book to the moment you leave. I love helping out my guests and nothing is too much trouble so please don't be shy, any burning questions- ask away! My parents are Linda and Jim and they started this business 25 years ago, they are now able to have some well earned holidays but you may still see them about site helping me out in the height of summer. We have a small team who also help us out, mainly Karen (our headhouse keeper) who has been working for us for nearly 20years now and Ali who is also part of our full time cleaning team and has been with me for the past three years. Finally Brian who has his own business but he looks after all things maintenance and is coming into his 15th year with us. We employ some more local staff to help us out in the busier months also as we have a lot of properties to keep on top of.

We are a small family run business located just outside of Oban. I (Katie) will be the one who will communicate with and see you during your stay but you may also see my parents. Please don't book us if you want street lights and an urban buzz! We are in the countryside and in a "dark sky" area so expect a bit of wilderness, plenty of rustic charm and some fantastic stary night skies but only a 10min drive from the center of town its easy to explore all things Oban has to offer. We are pleased to say we offer free WiFi in all our properties. This is a good speed and you will be able to stream from our smart TV's but each lodge has a download the same download limit of 20Mbps. The Barn also offer free WIFI which you can have access to when they are open (while also ordering a coffee). Our properties are all SELF CATERING but if your stay coincides with the pub being open you can always eat in the onsite award winning restaurant, The Barn Bar. Pets are welcome but we do charge and there is a limit of one per property in our one bedroom lodges and two per property in our two bedroom lodges, and you can also take your pet into the pub. Plenty of dog walking options with 17,000 acres, a fishing loch and numerous hills to explore all from your lodge door.

The parish of Kilbride boasts an historic kirkyard just a short stroll across our fields. Liam who maintains the graveyard can tell you about the warriors and clan chiefs that rest there. Our neighbours are all farmers - Cologin was once a large working farm and The Barn Bar - our country pub on site is housed in an old stone byre (barn) and still has the slate cattle stalls which add to its rustic charm and character. Oban is on your doorstep - you could walk over the hills (if you have wellies) but it is easier to drive the 2.5 miles by car. Oban is the ferry hub for Calmac with connections to the Inner and Outer Hebridean islands, train and bus links to Glasgow and Edinburgh and of course is home to world famous Oban Malt Whisky. McCaig's Tower, Dunollie House and Dunstaffnage Castle in town or Duart Castle on Mull and Iona Abbey on the historic Isle of Iona.

The Barn Bar is closed Tuesday and Wednesdays but open for lunches and dinners for the rest of the week. During the summer months guests can catch one of the impromptu sessions of folk music played by the locals on Sundays.

Pets are welcome at Cologin on request. Please note there is a surcharge of £5 per pet per night.

The Farmhouse is our only property on site with a private hot tub. None of our lodges have hot tubs.
