L’Olivier Gite is now a 3 bedroom converted donkey barn which can sleeps 8, its beautifully decorated throughout, the kitchen is equipped splendidly, originally built in 1891 and changed to habitable living accommodation in the 1990s, it has been tastefully renovated retaining the charm of the stone and original beams, downstairs there is a extensive lounge with a TV and dining area that leads a large kitchen, adjacent to the lounge area is an additional walk in shower and WC. The two bedrooms are situated on the 1st floor, both have a king size beds, there is plenty of room to place an additional bed in each room for a child (or alternatively a cot, mosses basket, travel cot in each of the rooms if required at an extra cost to be discussed after booking or at time of arrival). There is a WC and shower room upstairs servicing both bedrooms. Outside you will find a charming courtyard with a separated terrace, ideal for those summer evenings, just pour a drink, light the BBQ and relax! The house is located on a no through road, with no passing traffic which add to the tranquillity of semi-rural living. There is a private above ground swimming pool in the garden area which is open daily between 11:00hrs-17:30hrs from May until October. For health and safety reasons children are not permitted to be left alone. The pool is not heated and can only be opened and closed by the proprietor, no smoking area. The converted barn is adjoining our property and is situated next to a working sheep farm on the edge of the small village of Lizant with beautiful surrounding countryside, it is typically quiet, and an ideal place to sit and relax or go for a walk, from the house it is a short stroll down to the village amenities. Or alternatively there are plenty of cycling routes for the adventurous or you can book a horse riding lessons or a hack in the nearby village of Vouleme. If you or your family enjoy canoeing and paddle boarding then there is a water sports location close by.

Located on the department border between Charente & Vienne the house is ideally situated for travel to all points of the compass, be it North to Poitiers which possesses an exceptional architectural heritage, amazing gardens and the world famous Futuroscope, South to Angouleme and Cognac renowned for its vineyards and the Hennessy distillery, Go east deeper into the Vienne region for historic towns, villages, lakes and the motor racing circuit of Val de Vienne or West to the beaches and tourist attractions that the coast has to offer around the Bay of Biscay.
