We pride ourselves on providing a beautifully clean and environmentally friendly space. We generate our own electricity through our large solar system setup and harvest our own filtered rainwater for cleaning and drinking (no chemicals).
We are a recently retired couple who enjoy travel, good food and wine, and have a passion for the environment and energy self-sufficiency. However, spending time in the peace and tranquillity of Mimburi is what we cherish the most.
Our passion for the environment and energy self-sufficiency has led us here to Mimburi, a magnificent 95 acre property in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Here we live in absolute comfort whilst totally off-the-grid, generating our own solar power, harvesting rain water and processing waste in an environmentally friendly manner.
We love to greet our guests on arrival to give a brief rundown on the property, living off-the-grid and information on our local environment- from that point on we respect our guests privacy, unless of course, they require our assistance.
A complimentary welcome breakfast pack with some freshly baked bread is included in our offering, along with a wide selection of tea, coffee pods, milk and condiments.
It is our hope that our guests love staying at Mimburi as much as we do.
Studio Mimburi is situated in the rural area of Booroobin, just a short 18 minute drive to the picturesque hinterland town of Maleny. If you are after somewhere to tantalise your taste buds then Maleny and Montville are the spots, offering artisan cheeses, gelato, chocolates and some fabulous cafes and restaurants.
For guests who are more adventurous and love to immerse themselves in nature, there is an abundance of walking and hiking tracks, swimming holes and waterfalls, mountain climbing or just gentle rainforest strolls, then this area has you covered.
For an excursion, you might consider a day at the beach (the coast is only 45 minutes away), the Maleny Botanic Gardens and Birdworld, Australia Zoo, The Big Pineapple, Aussieworld, Sealife or even The Big Kart go karting track which is close by.
On the weekends there are always local produce and artisan markets in the area or if you want to drive further afield, the Yandina and Eumundi markets are definitely worth a visit. On any day of the week you can find yourself meandering through the many art galleries, potters corners and handcrafted gift shops and boutiques of Maleny and Montville.
You are spoilt for choice with regards to cafes, restaurants and pubs in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Some of our personal favourites are The Tamarind (Asian Fusion), Daawat Indian restaurant, Brouhaha craft brewery with a New York Bistro style eatery, The Terrace of Maleny (seafood), and for casual cafe style dining we love Franks.
There are always plenty of options when you stay in this beautiful part of world.
