My party of 5 total stayed only one night when hiking the Magome to Nagiso section of the Nakasendo. Proximity to train station and Nakasendo trail was the original selling point, but we fell in love with the place as soon as our host toured us around. It feels like staying at an artsy bed and breakfast, except you provide the breakfast and you get the entire place to yourself. There's small, delightful touches of personality and hospitality every where you look. We did not want for anything. Our sweet host met us at the front door to enter data from our passports and then gave us a walk through of the building. Two toilets and two showers was perfect for a group of 5. Fridge and other kitchen appliances work great. We listened to the CD disc player on the wall while reading the books and it was a lovely experience.The futons were placed very thoughtfully according to our parties needs. In addition to the trail and train station, there's a grocery store, a historic bridge and a cafe all within a couple minutes walk. The patios were a great hang out spot and we saw monkeys near the river around 7am. Honestly, I wish we had stayed longer but our plans dictated we move on. Next time we will try to book a few more nights so we can explore the area more!

Las habitaciones son muy amplias y cómodas, con una hermosa vista también. El personal muy amable y predispuesto a resolver todos los problemas. Pasamos unos días divinos con el toque especial de la nieve hasta unos 3 metros de altura.

La hospitalidad y el buen gusto en la decoración del lugar. Es encantador, todo de madera como una auténtica casa japonesa. En la misma habitacion hay una sala de descanso con una mesa y puedes dejar tus cosas allí. Se duerme en fotón encima del tatami, aunque el primer día resulta extraño, el segundo ya estás bien. En la habitación hay aire acondicionado y una estufa de gas. También hay una manta térmica para el fotón. Pero lo mejor es la ayuda que te ofrecen para visitar los alrededores y la buena conversación. Recomendables 100% para vivir realmente un Ryocan mas humilde y auténtico.
