Situated in Ghent, 2 km from Ghent Christmas Market, Treck Hostel has barbecue facilities and a terrace. Attractively situated in the Brugse Poort-Rooigem district, this hostel offers a shared lounge. Facilities include a children's playground and free WiFi is available. Amazing value for the price. The bed was very comfortable and close to electric sockets. Lockers are available with sockets inside, so you can leave your electronic devices safe while charging. It's a huge place with terrace, bar, a big lounge, even a cinema roulette. There lounge is very colorful with graffiti, and it provides several games (table tennis, fussball, board games etc.). The kitchen is small, but clean and has everything you need. They encourage you to eat in the lounge or terrace. There is a very nice vibe. The staff was extremely friendly. I arrived late and they didn't make an issue of it. Instead, they kept the kitchen open longer for me to eat dinner. The staff even provided a box of vegetables to eat for free. Breakfast was also very good. I saw they also rent out bikes and canoes but I didn't use the service.

Ghent Christmas Market is 700 metres from De Draecke Hostel, while Design Museum Ghent is 200 metres from the property. I like the possibility of getting an only ladies room. You also don't have to rent a sheets, it's included. You can rent a towel if you need. My room was for 5 person, and a toilet with a shower were in the room, not on the floor, which is very convenient. It's only 5 minutes walking from the centre, i like it very much.

Board games are available at the hostel and guests can enjoy kayak rental. the hostel has simply the best location and it’s quite unique. Rikkert was super nice and helpful, and so kind he even offered part of his dinner, u guys are lucky to have him on ur staff. The only thing I could like a little better is if u opened the kitchen, which is amazing btw, and hanging out areas a little earlier and close them a little later. Cheers guys, would gladly go back

Location is great. It is on the outskirt of the city center but it's not that far. Close to the flixbus station too. The area feels more local than touristy which I liked. There's a nearby sandwich cafe called Breadfast which is popular with the locals and they do great baguette sandwiches kind of like Subway style. Supermarkets are nearby too. The hostel staff were very friendly and helpful. Clean kitchen, clean bathrooms, spacious rooms. It's quiet at night so I had a well-rested sleep here.
