The staf is really friendly and helpful. They will help you with anything. The place is really clean as well. They have filtered water, free of charge. Most hostels I’ve stayed in in Sri Lanka didn’t offer any filtered water. The location is ideal, it’s only a 3 minute walk to the busstop and the main road with all the shops and restaurants. The beach is not even a 10 minute walk. There is also a kitchen and fridge which guests can make use of. I planned to stay here a few days, but ended up staying for two weeks.

Great hostel! The host is very kind and helpful, the welcome drink is just splendid! Was able to leave my backpack and pick it up later after checkout. Breakfast was great and includes a refreshing mango drink.

A hidden gem of a hostel! Tucked away, but worth the discovery. The host went above and beyond, making our stay truly memorable. While the road to the hostel is narrow and easy to miss, the experience is well worth it. Don't forget to turn on your maps for navigation. We'd definitely visit again - a charming retreat with exceptional hospitality!

My experience here was amazing from start to finish due to the kindness and hospitality of all who work there as well as a very clean and comfortable hostel! Great location on the main street of Mirissa. Thanks so much to Isu and Harsha for making the stay so memorable and a big shout out to Chandni the greatest volunteer ever! I had an incredible experience at Tides! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home from the start. The accommodation was affordable yet very comfortable, with clean and well-maintained rooms equipped with air conditioning—perfect for a relaxing stay. The highlight was the breathtaking beach view and the stunning sunsets, creating the perfect atmosphere to unwind. The food was just as impressive! Every meal I had was delicious, freshly prepared, and full of flavor. From local specialties to international dishes, everything was cooked to perfection. Enjoying a great meal while overlooking the ocean made the experience even better. If you're looking for a perfect getaway with amazing service, beautiful views, and fantastic food, Tides is the place to be. I’ll definitely be returning!

    Highly recommend this hostel,it was the best hostel I had stayed in Sri Lanka.The pricing maybe a bit higher for hostel but the facilities speak for it.Kitchen is also open.Everything you need to explore, restaurants, groceries are walkable.Also host gives you a map on check in which has all the details you need to make your stay comfortable.The ac dorms were very comfortable n had 2 shower rooms also. It was clean n there were cute cats at the hostel.You can checkout n keep your luggage in locker room n explore too..
