I really love this coffee hostel and this is my second time staying here. I was very surprised to see such an exaggerated 1-point rating. Firstly, Japan’s safety is widely recognized by travelers worldwide, and this guest’s personal feelings cannot change the fact that Japan is one of the safest countries in the world. Secondly, in a shared dormitory like a youth hostel, it’s reasonable for the host to ask guests not to lock the door from the inside, as this would prevent other roommates from entering. I feel this guest’s statement could lead to serious misunderstandings. Thirdly, as a shared dormitory, privacy is naturally affected, but that’s the nature of a youth hostel. It seems this guest doesn’t understand the concept of a youth hostel, and I suggest they choose such accommodations more carefully in the future. Additionally, the guest mentioned there was no space to organize luggage, which is completely contrary to my experience. Every dormitory room has reasonable space for luggage storage. Lastly, the guest hinted at the host’s nationality, suggesting that people from a certain country should avoid staying here. While this is their freedom of expression, I personally find it inappropriate. The café on the first floor is a great space for interaction, where you can meet young people from all over the world and have meaningful exchanges, which is one of the joys of traveling. The host is a friendly writer, knowledgeable, fluent in English, and very willing to engage with guests. Therefore, I believe this is a hostel worth staying at for a few days. In the future, whenever I return to this area, I will choose to stay here again.

I stayed in the 4-person dorm, but really, it was more like two 2-people room connected by a shared wall, with a small curtained passage. There were two showers and limited bathrooms, but there was no wait time. The hostel is very close to the subway lines, but it is apparently near the red-light district. I didn't find it unsafe and would probably stay again as it is good value, but this may be something to consider. The staff/host were extremely nice.

I've stayed in multiple hostels in various prefectures in Japan, and this one is by far my favourite one. The interior design of the lobby and the rooms creates an incredibly comfortable atmosphere. The hostel had all necessary amenities to make my 3-day stay wonderful. The staff members were incredibly friendly and helpful. All floors were very clean and well-kept. To top it all off, the location was ideal for me, not too far from the central station Sannomiya, allowing me to easily go around sightseeing. Will absolutely be recommending this cozy little haven to friends!

The bar/cafe area downstairs was very nice and very welcoming. As was the owner who was really kind and would always say goodbye or hello with a big smile on his face every time i would enter / leave. The room was nice and clean and the beds were good with a nice warm duvet and a big thick blanket in case you got cold. The guesthouse was located just outside the main area of kobe and located between two stations for easy access to other parts of the city.

The owner was very welcoming and accommodating! I had an overnight bus at midnight and checkout was obviously hours before that, so I left my luggage at the hostel to explore the rest of Kobe and kill some time, which also resulted in my phone battery dying with no other facilities to charge. So, when I went back to the hostel, the owner was very kind to let me charge my phone. The general facilities are quite female-friendly, so to speak - there are dedicated female-only facilities. The place is within walkable distance from Oishi station, which is only a few stops from Kobe-Sannomiya and Motomachi. It's also conveniently accessible to transports for Mt Rokko, which also leads to Arima Onsen. Overall, the hostel is decently quiet and definitely worth a bang for its buck given it's more of a residential area, so expect it to be less bustling than the main city area.

I stayed here for a week as a solo traveller. The owner is kind and helpful, letting me borrow an adapter when I forgot to bring mine. I was happy with the facilities available and the cleanliness of the room. I liked that there were both curtains and sliding panels for the beds. The owner is studying Japanese to communicate better with native guests. Please consider this hostel if you're visiting Kobe!

The accommodation was superb. Highly recommended for solo travellers hoping to experience a hostel-like environment. People are friendly, especially the owner who is super helpful. There is self check-in, so one can check-in anytime which works great if your flight is delayed (the password for the front door entrance gets communicated a day before your arrival via email). The bathroom and kitchen facility is nice. Here's hoping to come again soon for a longer trip.

Although no permanent staff all arrangement in line were fine as were the codes. Clear with large communal area although didn’t feel a hostel where folk socialised. Bedroom was clear and had sink fridge and microwave. Showers and toilets always clean. Right next to J loop station so easy to connect around Osaka and doorstep for Universal. Would definitely return

The hostel has really nice interior in what feels like a euro-Japan mix, nice kitchen, small sofa area where you can sit and read or put up your laptop, very charming bathroom with Japanese bathtub. The bunk beds are big and spacious with lots of room for your luggage. The neighbourhood is nice with lots of coffee shops and restaurants, about a 30min walk from the big shopping district.

Easily in the top 3 of all the hostels I stayed at. Lovely vibe, cool staff and guests, very clean and charming hostel (I actually really liked the train noises). Private rooms are spacious and relatively cheap. This is what every hostel should aspire to be
