Really underrated - and cheap for what it is. People were really nice, it was clean and new, you have your own privacy if you want it and social spaces are very great. +1 for the guitar!

Beautiful hostel tucked away in a tranquil corner of La Fortuna. Rooms were clean and comfortable and a lovely courtyard at the back of the property. Staff were so helpful and friendly - especially the two volunteers Marissa & Maria. They were on hand with anything we needed. Would highly recommend!

The owner was marvelous. He gave lots of great recommendations for several activities and does not want to sell tours like lots of others. Just perfect!!! This made our trip perfect and I highly recommend the hostel for everyone who goes to La Fortuna. The rooms were clean and we had a nice balkony to sit outside. It is a great hostel to get to know others.

Cute hostel near to the centre of La Fortuna. Decent kitchen and around the corner from a big supermarket. Really nice terrace upstairs to chill. Beds have curtains and bathroom in the dorm. Nice staff - thanks Aron, Margarita and Claudia for all the help during my stay.

We had an absolutely amazing time at Blackout Hostel. Most notably, the location and the staff/people. Just a couple minutes walk to the city center with nice restaurants, bakeries, and shops. Also about 10-15 minutes walk to this spectacular waterfall where everyone goes to jump off the rocks and swing from the Tarzan rope. Tony, the owner, was so kind and welcoming. We spent every night chatting in the main room with the other guests and even went out all together at the club next door. If you're looking for a fun time focused on experiences, this is the place to be.

The hostel is very well located. The staff is very friendly. You have swimming pool, small restaurant and bar, everything inside. The bathroom was inside the room and it was big, even with place to hang the clothes.

great located, friendly staff, nice room and nice public areas. we got welcome drinks and as it was off-season we were lucky with a free room upgrade which was awesome!
