There is also little shop down hill cross the road if you run out snacks or water. I would say that Surelee Homestay provides a great value of staying and I would highly recommend.

All rooms come with a balcony with mountain views. Moc’s House was a rural oasis after the chaos of Hanoi. The proprietor, Huong, was wonderfully welcoming and an excellent host. We loved the room, the setting and the hospitality. Huong was very comfortable with Google Translate and was happy to accommodate us in any way. The place was spotless, the heater worked well and there was ample hot water for showers. The view over the valley was lovely. The setting would be even more delightful in warmer weather when the beautiful decks could be put to good use. It is a 20-25 minute walk into town (Sunday market).

We had 2 rooms for 3 days (3 People). Very nice staff, they offered us a late check-out for free and asked if we needed anything else (water, towels and if we wanted them to clean our rooms). Great terrace on 4th floor :) I also liked the dimmed light above the bed.

A nice perk was that breakfast was included (I got fruit and french toast one day & a banana crepe the next). We ate dinner there and it was one of the best meals I’ve had (tofu and rice). The location is out of the way of Sa Pa town but it was nice because it was quiet & had a great view! The bed was HUGE- check out the attached photo- my husband is 6’1” for reference.
