Rohan and his family were welcoming and accommodating from the minute we arrived. It was truly like being part of their family the way they looked after us. The location was great and peaceful, and we were fed the most delicious home cooked breakfasts and dinners…. Not to mention free drinking water to refill your bottles. It felt like coming home after a day of exploration to pure relaxation. We were sad to leave, and as we did we were given a parting gift, which was so special. Gihan and his wife truly care for all of their guests, looking after their wellbeing and also allowing for independence and privacy. It felt to nice to be well cared for, especially when traveling alone. Gihan can help arrange tours and activities and will take you himself in his Tuk Tuk when available. They have bikes for hire and I enjoyed riding all around Anuradhapura a couple of times. Their food is amazing! In the past they owned a restaurant and it shows. A huge variety and the best food I’ve had in Sri Lanka. I am gluten intolerant and they were very accommodating to my diet. You can tell they care a lot about their business, investing in it and caring for their clients. Extend your stay, you won’t regret it. There’s much to see In Anuradhapura and you’ll not want to leave Corner Cottage.
