Guest House Zen is a beachfront property situated in Yamanakako, 18 km from Fuji-Q Highland and 21 km from Lake Kawaguchi. Excellent facility, the set up is so relaxed, the owner is sooo cool. We fed the couple of swans and a few ducks that were out on the waterfront, the view is out of this world. We drove and the parking was easy to negotiate the location position it is not noisy and you can hear the water birds and other birds chirping. As the name says (ZEN) it truely is. Also the convenience store is only about 8 minutes walk away. Coming back from the store we visited a shrine that was having its annual summer festivities, kids were doing a Sumo fight next to the temple, the staff at the temple were inviting, also the men of the town were carrying a traditional Japanese float around the town then back to temple, up the stairs under Tori gate and to the front of the temple, ( the float is very heavy so is fun to see the guys struggling, but they get it up there. Its a once in a lifetime chance to see traditional Japanese culture.

We got green tea on arrival. and transferred us and our luggage to the train station. He was very nice, even though we were a bit troublesome (complications with arrival time etc.) The view was also beautiful, I hope I can come back for a longer period here.

They took a Polaroid d picture and gave it us with a letter. I’m also pregnant and they gifted us with vitamin C, and chopsticks for both of us and the future baby! The facility is veeery clean, very close to the station and Hana and Satori, the owners, couldn’t be any sweeter!!!! We loooved our stay here!
