The guest house has family rooms. Hosts were generous, kind, thoughtful, funny and made me feel right at home. The kitchen had everything one needs to cook a small meal or heat up a bento. There is also a fridge and freezer. There is a lounge right by kitchen with a Japanese heating table, kotatsu, so one can socialize easily and we had meals together a couple times, which gave it a very homey and cozy atmosphere. The food arrangement was a combination mostly of typical Japanese dishes with a touch of western cuisine. We stayed on New Year's Eve so we even got some special dishes on top! For drinks, there were also several home-made ones (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) to choose from. The owner was extremely nice! He and his partner have a lot of international travel experience, especially in Latin America and Spain. They have very broad perspectives, so it's not a problem to stay as a foreigner even if you haven't been to Japan before. The inn of course has a natural hot spring bath, and we were able to book a time-slot to use privately. It is a remote location far away from the city, so we could enjoy some time away from the busy city and do some stargazing as well. They keep several cats which are very cute and friendly towards the guests.
