The first stop in Sri Lanka for me, my wife and our 17 months year old was Green Leaves Garden and we can highly recommend it! This was a really good way to get to know Sri Lankan culture. Anushka, the host, is such a nice and genuine person and he will help you with everything. We got to eat wonderful local food cooked by his family (if you eat vegan/vegetarian it's not a problem, in fact the opposite), go on hiking, visited different tempels, did a jeep safari, went to a herbal garden, a biological garden, a tea factory, even visited a funeral and got to know his wonderful family and friends. If you want to see elephants we really recommend you to see them in their natural habitat on a safari instead of visiting other places such as the orphanage (when we did research, several sources witnessed of the elephants being mistreated). Anushka picked us up from the airport and drove us to our next destination in Weligama after seven days. He even helped us with a missing bag from the airport. On our trips we always had interesting conversations about Sri Lankan history and current affairs and he was a professional guide on the different activities. We lived in a "simple" mud house which was very common back in the days. The room was spacious, had three double beds, a refrigerator, bathroom and air conditioner. We were in Sri Lanka for 30 days and spend seven days here and it was a great decision. If you want to get to know the real Sri Lanka, learn about it's culture and get new friendships, this is a great way to do it!

Property is very well maintained, food and rooms are high quality. Staff is very friendly, who made my stay very comfortable. Hygiene & cleanliness level was excellent. Food was delicious. Overall, wholesome experience.

We stayed in Mawanella at Mystay for just one night, however we wish we could stay longer! A spacious, comfortable room with multiple areas in the room and outside to relax. Friendly, accommodating host family, made us delicious food, and showed us around town.

The most stunning views in Kandy! Don’t let the stairs to the hotel put you off - the staff are incredibly helpful and will carry all your bags up for you. You’ll be rewarded by the most spectacular vista. Kobbekaduwa Bungalow is such a peaceful get away from the busyness of central Kandy and a great place to relax after a day seeing the sights. The food is absolutely delicious with options to have truly traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts, lunches and dinners! The best breakfast we’ve had while in Sri Lanka! We had such a lovely time here. The room is spacious, clean and the bed is super comfortable. We did the cooking class and it was a blast, the lady is so fun :) The owner of the house and his family are so nice. Would definitely recommend a stay here, outside of the chaos of the city.

The warm welcome from Kosala and Vipul has been the highlight of our stay. They really made us feel at home. As we arrived, they were two strangers, but as we left, they were to very good friends to us. They were very helpful with everything, answered all our questions, and Kosala's cooking was always delicious. They were always keen on making sure we were satisfied with everything. The room and bathroom were both very clean and confortable. The bed was also very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the big terrace with table and chair which allowed us to regularly relax, eat and/or work on our computers. The place is situated about 15min drive from the main center but this allows for a very calm and quiet place. Kosala and Vipul's english is very good which allowed for really great exchanges.
