I had an incredible stay at Mountain View. The owner is very helpful with everything, from booking hiking tours to Periyar Tuger Reserve as to provide anything you might need at the facility. He makes the place beautiful and peaceful, with a very appreciated background music in the common area. The atmosphere is friendly, and social gathering are naturally happening between guest. One of the best experiences I've had over the years, thank you very much for everything!

The room was spacious and very, very clean. The balcony was the perfect spot to relax and listen to the birds and monkeys (and even spot one every once in a while!). Kumari, the owner, was very helpful. The location is excellent - it is walking distance to the bus station and to the ecotourism office and meeting point for the activities in the park.

Lots! - Lovely clean, spacious room. - Good hot shower (and the option of a bath, which we didn’t take but nice to have!) - Beautiful surroundings - Amazing views from the windows and balcony. - Good food. - Coffee grown right on the property! - Helpful staff helped us to organise our bamboo rafting trip, kerala martial arts show, transport around the area and car to our next location. - Getting shown around the garden - so many different plants to see!

I booked doubled deluxe room C and was so delighted with the experience - the room was large and well furnished with a balcony overlooking the tiger reserve. It was perfectly located a ten minute walk from the meeting point for my trek in the reserve. It was beautifully clean and the host was extremely helpful. I only wish I could have stayed longer!

Hospitality is incredible! They really look for you and communication was really easy. Facilities were exceptional for its price! Room and big terrace are for you. Really clean. They give you the possibility to choose between indian or plane breakfast.

Mr Shukkoor made our stay very seamless and comfortable. Even with peak season , he was able to get us tickets for national park as well as for the cultural shows . He guided us on recommendations and served us amazing traditional Kerala breakfast.

The location is awesome! Right in the centre of Periyar, close to the nicest shops of town! The guesthouse is also great, very well maintained! The bed is king size and you have a great balcony facing the forest. The host is also super nice and welcoming. He prepared a great breakfast using his own home made coffee from a plant grown in the garden! We highly recommend it!

    Beautiful homestay in the mountains. Nice rooftop to be sociable and great host. Clean and comfortable rooms with bathroom. Close to the centre and national park. Great breakfast available made by the host with lots of options. Would 100% recommend staying at Mountain View.

    Ferndale is a great place to stay. Located in a lush and quiet neighbourhood. Dexter and Debby have been very thoughtful hosts. I highly recommand Ferndale if you're looking for a homestay in the Kumily / Thekaddy area.

    The host Mr. Shyam was very helpful in organising the trip and he assisted us very well. The homestay was very calm and located a bit away from chaiotic main town. Clean rooms and easy enterly happy with the stay and service. We were given access to cook food for ourself as we took our 5 month old child.

    The host Mr. Abbas is a very good and polite human. Everything was perfect as per price. Room and toilet were clean and equipped with hot water facilities. Room was spacious and well comfort. I must recommend this homestay if you are a budget traveler and wanting a homely environment.

    The best homestay you could find in India. Very clean, comfortable rooms and a lovely rooftop social area. Afsal is a fantastic host. He makes you feel at home immediately. He has good knowledge of activities in the area and is well respected by the locals. Like most guests, we wanted to extend our stay, and we were sad to leave. I highly recommend 👌

    I loooved my stay at Konark homestay. Rani and her husband are great hosts and trust me you will want to book this place for the views alone! The sun sets beautifully over the nature reserve which is right on the boarder of the back of the homestay. Also I think they improved their wifi because I had no issues, I was also able to upload a very large video file within 2 hours. If I come back to Kumily I will book here again. Water in shower gets hot and the bed is comfortable as well.
