Amazing location next to one of the small rivers. The family is lovely and they cook amazing food. They don't live in the house, but they are very attentive and arrange any meal you need (the mum cooks really good!) any tour or train ticket. The house is in a quiet area, away from any road or noise.

The accomodation was super cozy and clean. And Anand was the best host! He organized everything perfectly for us - from cheap kayak rental to sunrise boat tours - and he took us to a temple festival and on a bicycle tour around the island - it was simply lovely! And his amazing mum prepared the most delicious food for us (her egg curry was the best!) :) We didn’t feel like customers but friends during our stay, would always come back!

If you're looking for somewhere relaxing to enjoy the Kerala Backwaters, this is the place to stay! The family provides delicious meals and are more than happy provide extra information about what you're eating and also about the local area. It is easy to arrange activities such as canoe rides, bikes or kayaks with them, but also, if you can also laze about by the rivers edge, spotting wildlife or reading - highly recommended! They were extremely responsive via Whatsapp and were very helpful when we had some transport issues getting to and from their place. Would definitely come stay again!

This is the most beautiful place to stay in an unspoiled part of the backwaters. We really enjoyed just sitting on the terrace and looking out at the pretty garden and the colourful wild birds that visited. The early morning boat trip with Vishnu was serenely lovely - quite unmissable ! Pooni and Vishnu took great care of us and we enjoyed their company !

My stay at this homestay on Munroe Island was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment | arrived, I was welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality. The highlight of the experience was undoubtedly the host, Appu. Appu went above and beyond to make sure every part of my stay was comfortable and enriching. Whether it was guiding us through serene backwater canoe rides, sharing fascinating stories about the island's traditions, or introducing us to delicious local food, he made every moment special. The homestay itself is peaceful, clean, and surrounded by nature, making it the perfect place to relax and unwind. Waking up to the sounds of birds and watching the sunrise over the backwaters was magical. If you're planning a trip to Munroe Island, this is the place to stay.
