Guests can eat in the on-site family-friendly restaurant, which is open for dinner, lunch, brunch and high tea. Jami Hotel was the highlight of our trip! Not only was our stay extremely comfortable, but the owner really took care of us. We saw animals from the restaurant, including a monitor lizard, crocodile, king fisher, parrots, etc. The best part was the safari they organized for us. We saw 3 leopards and a sloth bear during our full day safari. They even prepared our breakfast and lunch with plenty of water. We had prebooked with a different safari company the day before and were a bit disappointed with the first trip. With Jami, we really couldn't ask for a better driver or a better host. They made our stay so special.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Mailagama Cinnamon Residence is a recently renovated guest house set in Kataragama, 21 km from Situlpawwa. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house also offers free WiFi, free private parking and facilities for disabled guests. We like the people, especially the manager Inbaraj, who is a great and kind man. He showed us the cinnamon plantations and explained how everything is used, he was so kind. We liked the dinner, the best chicken curry we tried so far in Sri Lanka, also there was a desert, we liked a lot. The room was clean, sanitized, everything was great, the view from our room was great. Mr. Inbaraj also treat us with the best papaya juice, coffee and the plantation harvests. We are so grateful and happy that we choose this place for our stay in Yala. The place is also near the Yala park, which was great as well.

After some time travelling I feel safe to say that you can tell the difference between people just making money of you and people who really know what they are doing and want the best for you. And Priya only wants the best for you and he will go out of his way to give you anything you want. From picking us up at the bus stop for free, coming to get us when it started raining and we were in the city, taking us to a beautiful little safari around the lake at sunset showing us lots of birds, crocodiles and bats, recommending us which buses to take from and to other destinations, to organizing the best safari we could hope for. He recommended us to do a full day in block 1 and we are really happy we took his advice. Priya works with very experienced guides and we had an amazing safari and even though it was peak season we managed to be most of the day alone and witness the park for what it is with its beauty and variety of animals. The accomodation itself is quite simple but it was more than enough for us. Nice clean room, good wifi, good AC, good food, comfortable bed. Absolutely recommend!

It is small familliar hotel with large rooms. Swimming pool is big, and clean, and next to room. Very tasty breakfast. During the whole stay our hoste prepared the best tea witht milk for our children. Wery nice atmosphere.

Bundala Bird Sanctuary is 26 km from the guest house, while Situlpawwa is 39 km from the property. Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport is 28 km away. I really loved the location, it had an excellent view of the lake and it is a great family run business. We had dinner at the cabana and it was delicious.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. Nothing was too much trouble. We even had a packed breakfast as we had early safaris each day. Cannot praise enough. Make sure you visit the Crocs before you leave!!!
